In reply to Michal Rosa. Thank you, Michal. A good camera definitely helps, but it doesn't make a good photographer, just like a fast car doesn't make a race car driver. With a basis of understanding a good piece of equipment can take natural talent far.

In reply to Michal Rosa. Thank you Michal! I really appreciate you reading and commenting, and understanding where I'm coming from. You are right that equipment matters, but it isn't all that matters. A good eye and some thoughtful composition can go a long way.

First honest photog blog entry I’ve seen for a while but you forgot the most important thing – get a good camera and even better lenses. A shitty portrait will look much better when taken with a f/1.8 lens with a nicely blurred background. Unlike what most people say, equipment matters, especially for us shitty photographers.
