I can’t overstate how important the essential oil infusion is, on top of the comfort, which is pretty incredible. I love using a diffuser to help get to and stay asleep (which I take while travelling for bike races), but this isn’t required with the Essentia mattress. The association of the scent and calming down, relaxing, and resting is strong. For those who struggle with quality of sleep, it’s generally a good idea to have your sleeping space be dedicated to calm and rest, rather than one where you work, eat, and binge on Netflix. Stepping into the room, the scent means ‘sleepy time,’ which helps your brain let go of the day, and settle down. It’s pretty fantastic. We all need to recover from the stresses of our days, and quality sleep is vital in so many ways. I’m so glad Essentia is making mattresses that deliver quality without sacrificing sustainability; 20 years guarantee is a strong statement.
